introduction

This is a new challenge of EUNI.
We decided to talk about this conflict because it is interesting and quite easy to understand and to explain.
For us this conflict is one which should be solved. There have been fighting too long and they should find a solution.
As it is a very famous conflict we thought  that we should speak about it and get it know better.

Here you have a video which explains the conflict in a short way:

historical background

During a lot of years, Cachemira has been a very important conflict.
Since its independence from England, all countries around wanted to have it because it is well located and in a tactical place.
Here you have a picture to see where it is located:

A lot of battles happened and it is still a problem because not only do other countries want to have it but also because now, Cashmere wants the independence.
Here you have a link to a power point with all the history and a lot of different information.
Nowadays, it still being a very important world affair because they continue fighting and thas is why we think that this conflict should be solved.

nowadays

Since the conflict started, there happened a lot of different fights so no a lot of people went there for tourism. But, since 2012 summer when India asked Cashmere citizens to receive the tourists in their home.
They used the phrase  "If you have a spare room in your home, please accommodate tourists".
Thanks to this a lot of people started going there and they saw that it was a safe place and so they told other people to go.
Here you have a report in which you can read the opinions of the tourists and also of Cashmere citizens.

conclusion

As all the conflicts, we think that it has to be solved but we are not sure how to do it.
When the conflict started we think that they should have done a referendum to  decide democratically that if they join Pakistan or India or maybe became independent. As most of the citizens were muslins they prefered to join Pakistan but the government was hindu so they decide to join India without asking.
We think that a easy or a fair solution would be to do a referendum as we said. It will show what they want and will finally end up with the conflict that has lasted so many years.
Here you have a image which shows a demostration of Cashmere citizens asking for the independence of it.
